Upgrade your Complexion without the Discomfort of CO2 Laser – Improve Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Acne Scars, Age Spots and Brown Spots with PicoSure

PIcosure Inland Empire, PicoSure, complexion, brown spots, age spots, sun spots, Dr. Brian Machida, facial plastic surgeon, Inland Empire, California

Age spots, brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles are common concerns in Inland Empire, California where I practice.  The hot, dry climate and strong sunlight can wreak havoc on your complexion.  Acne scars bother many in Inland Empire as well.  They’d like to eliminate them. However, not everyone is willing to deal with the discomfort and downtime resulting from a common effective modality, CO2 laser.  A newer treatment, PicoSure, can do a great job on brown spots, age spots, wrinkles and fine lines without pain or downtime.  Is it right for you?

Editor’s Note:  Dr. Brian Machida is a highly experienced double board-certified facial plastic surgeon. He taught facial plastic surgery for years at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.  Dr. Machida, who has performed thousands of cosmetic surgical procedures, can be found at STC Plastic Surgery in Ontario, Inland Empire California.

A new approach to a better complexion

Traditional CO2 laser treatments improve your complexion by getting rid of the outer layer of skin while stimulating collagen and elastin production below the surface.  Essentially, these lasers burn away acne scars, age spots, brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles.  Removing the problematic outer layer exposes the new, fresher skin below the surface.  In addition, the thermal injury caused by the laser’s controlled bursts of heat activates your skin’s healing cascade.  You produce more key proteins like collagen and elastin.  The result is firmer, healthier, younger-looking skin.

PicoSure improves your complexion by delivering highly focused, tightly controlled energy bursts rather than blazing heat.  This pulse of laser energy lasts mere trillionths of a second.  But the shockwave it generates disrupts particles that cause brown spots, age spots and even freckles.  This activates your immune system to remove those troublesome particles.  Next, surrounding cells release chemicals that increase collagen and elastin production.  This not only removes acne scars and spots, it also eliminates fine lines and wrinkles.  Three to four PicoSure treatments just 15 minutes long can even get rid of unwanted tattoos.

Effectively treat acne scars, brown spots, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles – with no downtime

Traditional laser treatment is effective, but comes with a real cost in pain and downtime.  Fractional lasers reduce both of these while still getting great results.  PicoSure substantially improves your complexion with less discomfort than fractional laser.  It has no downtime.

After PicoSure, treated areas will be pink and a little sore for a few hours, like a mild sunburn.  But you can wear makeup immediately.  You can go right back to work or your other activities.  There’s no need to stay home with PicoSure.  And while sunscreen is a must for the first few days, it’s always a good idea to use it to avoid sun damage and premature aging.

Unlike CO2 laser, scarring and hyperpigmentation are very rare with PicoSure.  In the unlikely event that they do occur, they’ll hardly be noticeable.                    CONTACT Dr. Machida Inland Empire, CA
